Freedom Guide Dogs Donation
As part of our Community Gift Program, we are proud to announce the donation of $1,000 to Freedom Guide Dogs. They are a non-profit organization based in Upstate New York, which breeds, raises, trains and places guide dogs with the blind and visually impaired through a distinctive program called Hometown TrainingTM. Freedom Guide Dogs’ services are available to people in the Eastern United States at no cost.
Employees from our Avon office had the pleasure of meeting Gannon Olson and his guide dog T-bone. Gannon is a student at Avon High School and in his words “I am now 16 years old. I am a sophomore in high school. I wrestle on my high school wrestling team. I am almost completely blind. I have T-bone. No worries.” Having a guide dog has made a tremendous impact on Gannon’s life. Please take a moment to read Gannon’s inspiring story in the Freedom Guide Dogs Fall Newsletter, A Young Man, His Dog and Freedom.
Bearingstar Insurance founded the Bearingstar Insurance Charitable Fund (“BICF”), a division of the Arbella Insurance Charitable Foundation, in 2012. The mission of the BICF is to engage in activities and to support not-for-profit organizations that have a significant positive impact on the people and communities that Bearingstar serves. This is achieved through our Community Gift Program of the BICF.
