Michael Collins is an Insurance Consultant based out of Bearingstar’s Avon, Connecticut office, where he works closely with clients to better understand their insurance needs, identify potential gaps, and help them find thoughtful coverage solutions that make sense for their lives.
With more than 20 years of insurance experience, Michael brings a steady, consultative approach to every client conversation. What he enjoys most about his role is the opportunity to educate clients and help make insurance feel less overwhelming. For Michael, one of the most rewarding parts of the job is hearing a client say, “Now I actually understand what my policy means.”
Before joining Bearingstar, Michael spent more than two decades working as an Insurance Consultant, building deep experience helping individuals and families navigate coverage decisions with confidence. He also holds the LUTCF (Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow) designation, which reflects his commitment to professional development and client education.
Michael attended Central Connecticut State University, where he studied computer science. While it may seem like an unexpected path into insurance, he credits that background with shaping the way he approaches problem-solving today. He enjoys breaking down complex challenges, finding practical solutions, and helping clients put the pieces together in a way that feels manageable.
Originally from New London, Connecticut, Michael now lives in Glastonbury with his family and eight dogs, who certainly keep life busy outside the office. When he gets the chance, he loves to travel and is always looking for the next opportunity to add another stamp to his passport.
